Whaler Goaltender Harvey Earns First Shutout of Season in Win Over Steam

At the Vale Centre in Port Colborne, Ontario on December 15th, the third place (21-3-0-1) Niagara Whalers hosted the eighth place (8-14-0-2) Tottenham Steam in a south division Greater Metro Hockey League match – up.

Whaler David Christopher and Ethan Spaxman led Niagara with two goal and two assists each in the 10 – 0 shutout win over the Steam. Jakob Reeves and Jake Lloyd finished Friday evening’s contest with combined six points. Reeves scored one goal and added two contribtuors while Lloyd had a hta trick in the Whalers win. John Swiatek, Zach Main and Jesse Masterson registered two points a piece with Main scoring one and setting up one goal along with Masterson and Swiatek assisting on two goals for Niagara. Jack Obrocki, Sam Martin, Mitchell Chastelet, Erik Peavey, Frolov Mikhail and Elias Berglund each contributed on goal each while Jordan Pitts had one goal in the 10 – 0 win over Tottenham in Port Colborne. Whaler goaltender Will Harvey earned his first shutout of the 2017 – 2018 season.

Niagara will now host the Toronto Predators on December 17th in a GMHL south division match – up at 7:00 p.m at the Vale Centre.
