East St. Paul, Manitoba native Julian Uhryniuk will be returning for his third season in the Superior International Junior Hockey League with the Fort Frances Lakers.
The 20 year old veteran forward will be bringing 18 goals and 25 assist to the 2017 – 2018 roster with the Lakers after playing in 92 regular SIJHL season games from 2015 – 2017. In 92 games in Fort Frances, the 5’10” and 170 lbs forward tallied 80 minutes in penalties. In ten play – off match – ups for Fort Frances, Uhryniuk had one assist for the Lakers.
“Julian had some hard luck last season with injuries limiting the number of games he played. We missed his game in the playoffs. He is the type of player that always works hard, plays a strong 200′ game and competes night in and out. He will be looked upon heavily for leadership being a third year vet. The Lakers family are pleased to have him back in the line up” said Fort Frances coach Wayne Strachan.
