SIJHL Lakers See Return of Assistant Coach Sinclair for the Fall of 2017

The Superior International Junior Hockey League’s Fort Frances Lakers sees the return of 28 year old Fort Frances native Chris Sinclair to behind the bench to join head coach Wayne Strachan with the coaching duties for the 2017 – 2018 SIJHL seasons.

As a player, Sinclair played in 49 SIJHL regular season games in his hometown of Fort Frances. In 49 games, the Fort Frances native sunk 18 goals and had 54 assists along with tallying 75 minutes in penalties. After his 2008 – 2009 season in Fort Frances, Chris headed to NCAA DIII College of St. Scholastica to play for the Saints. In 69 games with the Saints, Sinclair scored four goals and added 22 contributors to his totals from 2009 – 2013.
In 2015 – 2016, Sinclair was part of the Lakers SIJHL Bill Salonen championship coaching staff that took Fort Frances to the Dudley Hewitt Cup in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. During the 2016 – 2017 season, the Fort Frances native was part of the Fort Frances High School Muskies coaching staff.

“After a year with the high school Muskies team Chris has decided to come back to the Lakers coaching staff. We are pleased to have him back and look forward to having his knowledge and experience of the game to help our players this season. Chris will work along side Head Coach Wayne Strachan with the forwards and on power play systems and tactics” said Laker coach Wayne Strachan.
