The Lakers of the Superior International Junior Hockey League have added physical forward Jordan Sgro to their 2017 – 2018 roster in Fort Frances, Ontario after spending the 2016 – 2017 season in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
The 18 year old Derry, Pennsylvania native played the 2016 – 2017 season with the Cheyenne Stampede of the Western States Hockey League where the 5’10” and 165 lbs forward sunk 11 goals and added 19 assists in 48 regular season WSHL games along with tallying 100 minutes in penalties. In two post – season match – ups in the spring of 2017, Sgro added 20 penalty minutes to his season totals.
Laker coach Wayne Starchan told the Junior Hockey Network that “Jordan is a player that can bring a lot of different skills to a hockey team. He is a fast energetic player that can play with an edge. He will hound pucks and he has the skill set to produce in our league. We are very happy to have Jordan join the program.”
