SIJHL Ice Dogs Sandboe Commits to NCAA DIII Morrisville Mustangs

Coming out of Dryden, Ontario on July 5th, blueliner Colton Sandboe of the 2017 Bill Salonen champions, the Dryden Ice Dogs will be heading to Morrisville, New York for the fall of 2017 to join the NCAA DIII Mustangs where the Grande Prairie, Alberta native will study Business Administration.

The 6’0” and 235 lbs defenseman started the 2016 – 2017 season with the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Espanola Express where the 20 year old had three goals and nine assists in 31 NOJHL regular season games along with a total of 42 minutes in penalties before joining the Ice Dogs at the January 10th trade deadline.

In 17 regular season games in Dryden, Colton sank two goals and contributed 13 more helpers for the Ice Dogs including ten penalty minutes. In eight post – season games, the Grande Prairie native had four assist and one more assist in Trenton, Ontario at the 2017 Dudley Hewitt Cup.
