In a North division match – up at Le Centre in Témiscaming, Quebec with the third place Titans hosting the first place South Muskoka Shield on February 12th in Greater Metro Hockey League action. In the first three match – ups in the 2015 – 2016 season, the Temiscaming Titans have outscored the Shield 14 – 11 with the South Muskoka leading the series 2 – 1.
South Muskoka’s Alfred Panelin – Berg sets up Shield Carl Lyden at 4:16 of the first to give South Muskoka a 1 – 1 lead. Témiscaming’s Ryder Murray evens the game 1 – 1 at 17:21 of the first with Guillaume Taupier and Oleg Khalemin adding assists on Murray’s goal. Juraj Kamenicky of the Shield gives South Muskoka a 2 – 1 lead with a pass from Edgar Protchenko at 18:05 of the first.
Michael Chuinard scores the tying goal for the Titans at 5:18 of the second with Kurtis Klinger setting up Chuinard. With the Shield on a power play at 6:24 of the second, Panelin – Berg scores the tying goal for South Muskoka with Lyden and Kamenicky drawing the contributors. Taupier sinks the go – ahead for Témiscaming at 5:40 of the final period to bring the Titans lead to 3 – 2. Anthony Berard had the helper on Taupier’s goal. 40 seconds past the halfway mark of the third, Patrick Becka gives the Shield a 4 – 3 win over Témiscaming at the 10:40 mark of the third. Lyden and Panelin – Berg had the assists on Becka’s winning goal.
On February 13th in Témiscaming at the Le Centre, the (33 – 6 – 2) Titans will host the (34 – 7) Almaguin Spartans in a 2:30 p.m matinee.
