The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday October 2nd that Thief River Falls Norskies forward Parker Simonson has been named the Player of the Week for the period ending October 1st.
In two outings over the weekend the 20-year-old from Bismarck, North Dakota, picked up four points helping Thief River Falls register a pair of wins and remain unbeaten early this season.
He began by supplying the tying goal in the third period Friday in a contest his side would win on the road, via a shootout, at Minnesota Friday.
One night later he tallied twice, including the game-winner, and added an assist as Thief River Falls finished off a home-and-home sweep of the Iron Rangers at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
