Lambert, Westgard, Shea Named CJHL October Stars

The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Friday November 24th that defenceman Hudson Lambert of the Orangeville Flyers (OJHL), forward Ty Westgard of the Surrey Eagles (BCHL) as well as forward T.J. Shea of the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) have been named its CJHL Stars of the Month for October.

1st Star: Hudson Lambert (D) Orangeville Flyers (OJHL) – October was an impressive one for the Orangeville blueliner. … The 18-year-old Richmond Hill, Ontario product took to the ice in 12 outings for the Flyers last month and proceeded to collect points in 10 of them, totalling 18 in all on four goals and 14 assists. … Six of those contests were multi-point affairs. … Lambert currently tops all Orangeville skaters in offensive production and presently paces all OJHL defencemen in points with 30, of which 12 have come via the power play.

2nd Star: Ty Westgard (F) Surrey Eagles (BCHL) – A 20-point month saw Westgard post four goals and 16 assists in just 11 games for his hometown Eagles’ side. … He etched his name on the scoresheet in every game in October for Surrey, which was part of a 16-game point streak he produced earlier this season. … Westgard had multiple points on seven occasions and was named a game star in six of the match-ups and added one game-winning goal to his stat line as well. … The six-foot, 190-pound forward currently leads the BCHL in assists with 30 in 27 outings this season and is fourth overall in BCHL scoring with 37 points.

3rd Star: T.J. Shea (F) Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) – In 10 games last month with Summerside, the 19-year-old from Tignish, P.E.I. put up big numbers for the Western Capitals by scoring eight times and doling out 14 assists for 22 points. … The second-year MHLer recorded two points or more in nine of those contests, including a four-point effort against the Amherst Ramblers. … Shea is currently riding an impressive 12-game point streak in which he has registered multiple points in each of them. … He also leads the MHL in scoring with 35 points on 14 goals and a league-best 21 assists.
