Kalkaska Rhinos Shutout by the Riverkings in USPHL Action

After having 18 days of USPHL Midwest division action off, the Kalkaska Rhinos hit the ice on October 12th in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin against the Wisconsin Rapid Riverkings. Thursday evening’s match – up was the only the third game of the 2017 – 2018 season for the Rhinos.

At 13:05 of the opening period and on a power play, Riverking Jacob Gaydos finds the back of the Kalkaska goaltender Devin Allen’s net to give Wisconsin Rapids a 1 – 0 lead. Brett Delaat had the assist on Gaydos power play goal. At thirteen minutes even, Ryan Mantz fires the game winner for the hosts to give the Riverkings a 2 – 0 win over the Rhinos. Adam Peterson and Austyn Quarters drew the contributors on Mantz’s game winner. Rhino goaltender Devin Allen turned away 24 of 26 shots in Kalkaska’s 2 – 0 loss in Wisconsin.

Next up for the Rhinos, Kalkaska will face the Iron Yoopers in a 12:20 (CST) puck drop on October 13th at the USPHL Chicago Showcase.
