The Daily Edition talks to junior A head coaches, owners and executives with a different question every day about their team’s hockey programs. Here we go!
Our Daily Edition Question of the Day: What is the goal for your team next season and why are you involved with your organization?
Wayne Strachan – Fort Frances Lakers (Superior International Junior Hockey League)
Maybe this is a bold goal this early into recruiting and the next season but in our exit meetings yesterday it was decided that we want another chance at the Dudley Hewitt Cup and winning the SIJHL Championship.
I am involved most to give back to the game I love and help develop young men to achieve their goals and future endeavours. Hockey is a part of my family’s life and I am following in both my dads and brothers footsteps. I enjoy the competitiveness and learning more about the game every day. I enjoy seeing the players improve and work to reach their goals.
Matt Parker – Soo Firehawks (Midwest Junior Hockey League)
Our goal for next season is the same every season. Work hard to be the best and hopefully everything comes together during the season and make a run for a championship. Work on our players to become better athletes and better men and have an opportunity to move on in junior hockey.
I’m involved because this organization is a part of my life. Has been for years coaching junior hockey for great people who let you coach makes it all easier.
