On Saturday February 3rd in Tottenham, Ontario, the fourth place North York Renegades hit the ice to face the ninth place Tottenham Steam in a south division Greater Metro Hockey League match – up.
At 2:59 of the opening period, Steven Santos fires the first goal of the game with Connor Ventura and Conor Thomson adding the contributors on Santos goal. With the Renegades on a power play 11:21 into the period, Jonathan Schillaci sinks the visitors second of the contest with Chris Martin and Ventura setting up Schillaci’s power play marker. With 52 seconds remaining in the period, Martin sends North York into the first intermission up 3 – 0. Mark Mannarn and Troy Murray drew the contributors on Martin’s goal. Martin scores the fourth of the game 1:59 into the middle stanza to bring the lead 4 – 0 with a pass from Mark Mannarn for the Renegades. Steven Santos finds Ventura at 2:08 of the period to increase the lead to 5 – 0. Ventura and Santos combined for the sixth of the game when Ventura finds the back of the Steam’s net 25 seconds later.
Drake Bailey had the assist on North York’s Alexander Noble’s goal at 12:25 of the period to give the Renegades a 7 – 0 lead. Mannarn registers his third point of the game with his first goal of the contest at 14:57 of the second with Liam Little and Martin adding the helpers to give North York a 8 – 0 shutout win over Tottenham. Renegade goaltender Joseph Pearce earned his first shutout of the 2017 – 2018 season in North York’s 27th win of the season.
The Renegades are back in action on February 5th when North York heads to Oshawa to face eighth place the Riverkings in an 8:30 p.m puck drop.
