Third round, 61st overall selection of the Ontario Hockey League’s Soo Greyhounds Nick Pastorious is headed to Port Colborne, Ontario to finish his junior hockey career with the 2017 Greater Metro Hockey League Russell Cup Champions, the Niagara Whalers.
6’1” and 210 lbs forward spent the five seasons from 2012 – 2016 between the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League with the Soo Thunderbirds, St. Catharines Falcons, Soo Greyhounds, Barrie Colts and Niagara Ice Dogs. The 21 year old Toronto, Ontario sank four goals and added seven assists with the NOJHL Thunderbirds. In the Ontario Hockey League, Pastorious had ten goals and ten contributors in 139 regular season games along with tallying a total of 228 minutes in penalties.
Whaler general manager Spencer DeWolfe told the Junior Hockey Network that “Nick brings experience to this hockey club. His demeanour, focus, and attention to detail are remarkable. What I am most excited for is his passion for hockey and his drive for this upcoming season. Having five years of OHL experience, Nick’s excitement and eagerness to play, but also wanting to work with the younger players to develop their game is impeccable.”
