The Almaguin Spartans of the Greater Metro Hockey League will forgo this year’s spring training camp and take a team of prospects to Canton, Michigan and Niagara Falls, Ontario for the two prospect showcases in the spring of 2016.
The Michigan Pre Draft in Canton, Michigan will be held from May 6th – 8th while the Niagara Prospects Cup will run from June 17th – 19th.
It’s a great opportunity for us to look at guys in real game action and it is also a great opportunity for players looking to be scouted by teams in other leagues as both tournaments have 40 to 50 scouts in attendance from a number of different leagues.
Deadline is May 1st for Pre Draft (Canton, Michigan) with a cost of $250.00 per player along with the Niagara deadline on June 1st with a cost of $225.00. If you sign up for both tournaments it is $400.00.

About the Michigan Pre-Draft Showcase
The fourth annual Michigan Pre-Draft Showcase Tournament powered by Harrow Sports will be held in Canton, Michigan May 6th – 8th 2016. The camp will be featuring junior eligible players from Michigan and throughout all of North America. The Michigan Pre-Draft Showcase offers opportunities for players with premier junior “A” teams throughout the weekend. The past three year’s the showcase tournament has seen nearly 1000 players and numerous scouts walk through the doors of Arctic Edge and Arctic Pond Ice Arena to participate in the highly competitive weekend. The 2016 showcase will feature up to 40 teams competing in the event.
About Niagara Prospect Cup
The Niagara Prospect Cup will be entering into it’ second year running the tournament in Niagara Falls, Ontario from May 6th – 8th. This showcase offers divisions in Junior (1995 & 1996), U18 (1997 & 1998), U16 (1999 & 2000) and 2000 – 2009. The Niagara Prospect Cup will have MVP awards for each game. Every team will be guaranteed a minimum of 4 games. Games will be at Seymour-Hannah Sports & Entertainment Center (St. Catharines) and the Gale Centre (Niagara Falls).
