GMHL Renegades Shutout for the First Time in 2017/18

The fourth place North York Renegades hit the road on January 10th to meet the fifth place Bradford Bulls in Bradford, Ontario in a Greater Metro Hockey League south division match – up.

With the Bulls shorthanded 6:54 into the second period, Bradford’s Brendan Hussey sinks the opening goal to give the hosts a 1 – 0 lead. Tim Glenfield and Zakk Bekolay drew the helpers on Hussey’s goal. At 14:11 of the middle stanza, Bekolay and Hussey set up Bull Jonne Walkky forBradford’s second of the contest to bring the lead to 2 – 0. Roope Kalanti sets up Frederik Gildsig of the Bulls to hand the Renegades their first shutout loss of the 2017 – 2018 GMHL season. North York’s goaltender Evan Purdy stopped 32 of 35 shots in the Renegades 3 – 0 loss in Bradford.

Next up for the Renegades will be the tenth place Toronto Predators in North York in a 4:45 p.m start on January 13th.
