GMHL Renegades Add Seven to 2017/18 North York Roster

The Greater Metro Hockey League’s North York Renegades have added rookies Alex Isidori, Rick Pantling, Nevin Guenther, Noah Feketet, Trent Markley, Tim Ligvene, Nicholas Carnovale to the 2017 – 2018 roster. Coach Ryan Ramsay will see veterans Justin Pirie, Marcus Drinovic, Emmanuel Noche, Liam Little, Joe Pearce and Dave Maikawata return to wear the Renegades’ jersey in the fall of 2017.

Defenseman Rick Pantling comes to North York after spending the 2016 – 2017 season with the GMHL Wiarton Rock and CPJHL Grey Highlands Hawks. The 19 year old Brampton, Ontario native Pantling started the season in the GMHL with the Wiarton Rock where he played 19 regular season games tallying three goals and one assists while accumulating 64 minutes in penalties. In the CPJHL during the 2016 – 2017 season, Pantling added nine contributors to his season totals while adding another 68 penalty minutes with the Hawks.

5’8” and 175 lbs forward Nevin Guenther spent the last two seasons from 2015 – 2016 season in southwestern Ontario with the Delhi Travellers of the Midwestern Junior C Hockey League (MWJCHL). The 21 year old 5’8” and 175 lbs Guenther scored 20 goals and had 15 assists in 67 games in two seasons with the Travelers.

Rookie Noah Fekete will pull on a Renegades jersey after playing for the Toronto Attack of the GMHL in 2016 – 2017. The 19 year old Mississauga, Ontario native stands 6”0” and weighs in at 195 lbs. in 2016 – 2017, Fekete sank one goal and added five helpers in 34 regular season match – ups. The 19 year old forward finished the season with a total of 52 minutes in penalties with the Attack in 2016 – 2017.

Toronto, Ontario native Nicolas Carnovale joins North York as a 17 year old in the fall of 2017 after playing his minor midget 2016 – 2017 season with the Richmond Hill Coyotes Minor Midget AAA of the Eastern ‘A’ Minor Midget Hockey League program. In 20 regular season games with the Coyotes, the 6’1” and 165 lbs Carnovale had two assists for Richmond Hill.

Justin Pirie returns to the Renegades for his fourth straight season in a Renegades jersey with a total of 115 regular season games under his belt. In 115 GMHL games from 2014 – 2017, the 6’1” and 185 lbs Toronto, Ontario native has 11 goals and 33 assists as a defenseman with North York. In six post – season match – ups in the spring of 2017, Pirie registered 17 minutes in penalties with North York.

5’10” and 160 lbs veteran forward Marcus Drinovac returns to North York for the 2017 – 2018 season after playing the last two seasons from 2015 – 2017 with the Renegades. The 17 Mississauga, Ontario native sunk one and added nine assists in 38 regular season games. Drinovac saw action in two season games with North York in the 2017 playoffs.

Between the pipes, the 19 year old Emmanuel Noce comes back to North York after splitting the 2015 – 2016 and 2016 – 2017 GMHL seasons with the Toronto Attack and Renegades. The 6’0” and 200 lbs Toronto, Ontario goaltender played with 43 regular season games with the Attack and North York.

Stouffville, Ontario’s Dave Maikawa will don a North York jersey for his second season after playing for the Renegades in 2016 – 2017. The 20 year old 6’0” and 180 lbs forward finished last season with 11 goals and 14 assists in 38 regular season games. Maikawa added two goals and contributed one assist in seven post – season game in the spring of 2017.
