Dryden’s Allkins named SIJHL – Play It Again Sports Week 14 Star

The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday December 19th that Dryden GM Ice Dogs forward Braeden Allkins has been named its final Play It Again Sports player of the week recipient for 2016 for the period ending December 18th.

In four games last week Allkins amassed 11 points in all helping Dryden win all of them and move back into first place in the overall league standings.

The 20-year-old Golden, British Columbia product tallied six times and assisted on five others in that span for the GM Ice Dogs to aid in their four victories.

Allkins currently leads all SIJHL skaters in offensive production with 46 points in 30 outings with 23 tallies and as many helpers.

Also earning consideration for Play It Again Sports player of the week honours were the following:

Jared Virtanen, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Ryan Buttazzoni, (G) Thief River Falls Norskies; Isaiah Olschewske (D) Minnesota Iron Rangers; Brendan Gillis, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars and Sidney Gladue, (F) English River Miners.

The Play It Again Sports player of the week returns in January when the second half of the SIJHL season gets underway.
